How to Choose the Right Material For Your Job
Q:Should I choose PETG or ASA for my project?
If the part will live indoors in a workshop, connects to wood dust or water, or needs slight flex to absorb impacts without cracking, choose PETG. If the part will be mounted outdoors under sunlight (e.g. lawn mowers, solar brackets) or inside an automobile where summer temperatures exceed 60°C, choose ASA.
Q:When is Carbon Fiber (PETG-CF) worth the extra cost?
PETG-CF is ideal when you need extreme torsional and flexural stiffness with zero sag over long spans, or when you need a high-end matte surface finish without visible layer lines. It is popular for drone arms, CNC router brackets, and camera rigs.
Q:Can TPU 95A create watertight or airtight seals?
Yes! When sliced with 100% infill and slightly increased flow rate, TPU 95A fuses completely into a solid, rubbery mass that compresses securely against mating flanges, acting as an airtight gasket or vacuum seal.
